Acupuncture Increases IVF Success by 65%

According to a study published in the British Medical Journal, acupuncture may more than double the chances of conception.

The results are from a meta-analysis study, a technique in which the results of many previous studies are evaluated and pooled.

The authors reported that IVF in combination with acupuncture increased the odds of pregnancy by 65%, increased the odds of ongoing pregnancy by 87%, and increased the odds of a live birth by 91% compared with IVF on its own.

Skeptics warn against drawing conclusions too quickly from this study, but it offers a beacon of hope to the millions of women across the world suffering from decreased fertility.
